Perk Up

When I first saw this set(Puns from the Past) I never thought I will get it, and I wasn't really drawn to it. But since SU! had the sampler promotion I got this set I got it for free, as well the Flight of the butterfly. Yesterday I decided to play with this set and made this card. It took me forever and back to make all look old. I used my distressing tool a lot, as well a lot of sponging and faux stitching. I used some retired perwter hardware(the one I have been hoarding while it was current, and left with a whole box of it LoL). The patterned paper is K&C Co. and I used Robin's Nest Paris Dew Drops. The other supplies are Stampin' Up! Scroll down for complete list of supplies.SUPPLIES:
stamps: Puns from the Past
ink: chocolate chip
paper: K&C Co., Baja Breeze, More Mustard, Chocolate chip, Confetti White
other: twill ribbon, pewter hardware(retired), Paris Dew Drops, paper piercing tool, sponges, distressing tool.
Enjoy!

Beate's weekend sketch challenge 67

Here is the card I made for Beate's Weekend sketch challenge, I twisted it a little , as I flipped the sketch. ANd my main image is larger than the sketch and little towards the left, in order to have space to tie knot on the ribbon. For this card I used the Flourishes set Peony. I just love thing big flower. When first I see large flowers I think about layering them. That is what I did with this flower. I stamped it three times, colored with copics, cut out, embossed with glassy glaze emanel and layered. I used Basic Grey Scarlet Letters dp, velvet ribbon, some pretties, and brads.Scroll down for complete list of supplies.

In Need of Few Baby Cards

I had to make one card for a Baby Shower, and I thought when I am making one, I will make few so I have on hand when needed, as few friends have their babies on the way. I got tired of the onesies cards, LoL, so I decided to change it up this time, I saw a card using the set "Nursery Necessities" about year ago over MJ Albright's blog at that time I wrote the sketch and little directions, and now, about a year later I "CASE-d" her card. I used different color shecmes on all of them, and I made two girl and two boy cards. When I was editing the pictures I noticed that on one of the cards I forgot to tie a knot.
Yesterday I thought I will make bunch of cards, but only those 4 cards took me over 5 hrs to make :-o. Scroll down for supplies.

SUPPLIES:
stamps: Nursery Necessities, Nursery wheel
ink: versamark, going gray, basic gray, sahara sand, chocolate chip, close to cocoa, pink pirouette, bashful blue

Fabric Flowers

Sorry, no card yet, still haven't gotten a chance to make one today. Yesterday I didn't make anything, since I had an exam at 11 and then had the deadline for submitting the proposal for my Senior Design Project. And I had sore throat and bad headache, so when I got home I had some Teraflu, slept till 7pm, went to Bible Talk where we had early Thanksgiving dinner, came back home and went to bed. LoL.
But I have something else to share, which I promised several days ago.
Last week I went to Michael's and saw some Fall Floral Stems at 80% off and Xmas for 50% The flowers looked small enough to be used on cards. And I thought of pulling them apart and using them on my cards, it will save me lots of $$ instead buying all those fabric flowers. So I did so. The last one is velvet hydrangea, which I pulled a part, and then made a box to store the flowers in. I still haven't made any storage boxes or dedicated jars for the rest, I am keeping them for now in zip-lock baggies. The box on the bottom was made of chocolate chip and really rust cardstock, and on the top is Juntos dsp.
After this I pulled apart the petals as well (that part is not shown :( , but they looked like the second picture down from here)

Butterfly Moments

For months I have been following Kristina Werner's blog and the color inspiration challenges, but never really playes, I always felt the colors are not really me. But even this week's colors are so NOT me, I decided to play and get out of my comfort zone. So I used the Flourishes set Butterfly moments to create this card. Those who know me, know how much I LOVE butterflies. When my husband saw the card, he was little confused, LOL, he was like: the colors are unusual, they are not really you. I was: I KNOW!!! Scroll down for the complete list of supplies!

Eternal Summer and Flourishes Featured Stamper

So this post wasn't meant to go in the air until tomorrow, but I got some exciting news, totally unexpected when I went to check my email in the Drexel COmputer Lab, on my break between classes. I was picked to be Flourishes Featured Stamper this week, together with 2 other ladies. Check out the Flourishes Blog: http://flourishesnewsletter.blogspot.com/2008/11/serving-up-featured-stampers-with-twist.html
When I was reading the email I was: Huh, what? What did I do? I was half asleep (school), so it took me a bit till I realized what the PM said. I just re-took the picture of the card in day light.
So here is the post which supposed to go tomorrow :) Enjoy!

I love the set Poppy Patch from Flourishes, over at SCS there was another sketch challenge and I decided to play. I don't do many sketch challenges, but needed a little inspiration as I have been swamped with school lately and haven't had time to play a lot. So here is what I came up with for that sketch challenge
SUPPLIES:
stamps: Poppy Patch by Flourishes
ink: Adirondack black ink, copic markers, BG10, Yg95, YG97, YG99, R27,R29,R59, 0
paper: whisper white, riding hood red, basic black, soft sky (retired), old olive, riding hood red dsp
other: royal butterfly MS punch, square punch, black brads, black polka dot organdy ribbon, corner ticket punch

Charmed box

This past weekend I made a trip to Michael's and picked up some jewlery stuff which I thought I can use for my cards. The bad thing was that all of those were packed in little baggies or were just on a thread. I know if it's in a baggie I will put it somewhere and forget about it. Like the little butterfly charms you will see in the box , believe or not they are 4 years old!!! They were in a baggie and I FORGOT all about them. So I decided to make a box to store all of them. I used PTI white cardstock and retired SU dsp from a year ago to make this box, as well acetate for the lid, so I can see what's inside.
The box measures 5"x5"x1"
I have another Michael's find to share with you, but that would need to be another day :)

MFT What's Up Wednesday Challenge

I know it's not Wednesay, but Saturday, but I finally got a chance to make the card for the MFT What's Up Wednesday CHallenge. I had the image stamped and colored on Thursday or Wednesday, but actually didn't finish the card until last night and this morning I added some finishing touches (dew drops), as well last night I added some details to the card I posted below. I was thinking, those trees look kinda empty, lol, if I am shipping trees to Macedonia, I could at least add ornaments to them :P , so I added some beads from red bead duo package from SU. Scroll down for complete list of supplies.

Shipping you holiday cheer

I finally made a card this week! I made one yesterday, but I don't really like it, so I am not gonna put it here :P
I made this one for Beate's weekend sketch challenge 66. I wanted to make a card for one of my friends back in Europe, and was thinking about using the Loads of Love, but then I thought : Trucks can't travel from here to Europe, they can't drive through the Atlantic Ocean. So I thought of Boatloads of Love, and I used the tree from Loads of Love. I printed my own saying, because I felt like none was fitting my card. I used the Write me a Memory font CD from SU, so the font matches the other sayings from these stamp sets. All supplies are SU except the white brads which are Doodlebug. I wish SU! would make white brads. Scroll down for complete list of supplies.
SUPPLIES:
stamps: Boatloads of Love, Loads of Love
ink: black staz on, bashful blue, chocolate chip, baja breeze, riding hood red, going gray, kiwi kiss
paper: watercolor paper, riding hood red, kiwi kiss, baja breeze, frosty day dsp
other: kiwi kiss satin ribbon, white brads, Write me a Memory II font CD, 1/4" circle punch, aqua painter

Owl be Home

Oops, I forgot to share this card, whichI started marking on Saturday and finished on Sunday. I haven't made anything yet this week, it has just been crazy with school and I had an assignment to write, actualy an stupid proposal (if I only knew what I was proposing at 4am LOL, I didn't go back to read what I wrote last night, I am too afraid that I may have said some non-senses LOL)
While I was writing this thing, I had a flash-back, I remembered that 5 years ago I was at a wedding in Bulgaria (October 18th 2003), and I was already planning to move to the US. Side note is that I caught the bouquet LoL, and the next wedding I was at, was my own wedding. LoL (february 2005). Anyway, I was talking to friends of mine who now live in MN, and we were talking about my plans to come to the US and so on. Adam at that time said to me that the East Coast needs electrical engineers, especially after the black out in August 2003, and that I would be able to easily find a job.... and what do ya know, FIVE years later I am in the US (been here for 4.5 years) , on the East Coast and working on a project for designing a Synchrophasor Data Concentrator which will help with monitoring and controlling of the PECO transmission system and such an events as black outs would be able to be predicted and stopped before they happen.
Anyway...onto the card. I used the MFT set Christmas Owls, ain't they cute? I stamped them on shimmery white cardstock and watercolored them. I punched some snowflakes with a snowflake Punch Bunch punch and added some pretties in the centers. Scroll down for complete list of supplies. SUPPLIES:
stamps: MFT Christmas Owls
paper: Not quite navy, Baja Breeze, ski slope dsp, shimmery white

With the holidays kicking in, I have been thinking about creative packaging for gift. I saw at Lauren Meader's blog similar thing, but I couldn't remember her instructions, so I made what I remembered. LoL. I used the long rectangle nestabillities to cut the cardstock. As well I used Snow Burst stamp set to stamp on it. I like how it came out. Scroll down for complete list of supplies.

SUPPLIES:
stamps: Snow Burst, To You and Yours
paper: kraft, riding hood red
ink: riding hood red classic ink, whisper white craft ink
other: kraft taffeta ribbon, nestabillities, linen thread.

Coffee and Friends....

The perfect blend....
For those who know me I love coffee! One thing which is kinda everyday habit in Macedonia is to go out for coffee with friends.
Last week I received my order from www.elzybells.co.uk , and one of the images was this one, so I wanted to play right away , well I was patient for 2 days before I played...LoL. I stamped the image with Momento in Tuxedo Black and colored the image with Copics. The sentiment is from MFT stamps from the set " Hot Stuff". I used chocolate organdy ribbon, some vintage brads, and K&C Co. patterned paper. I sponged the edges with Creamy Caramel ink to get a vintage look. Scroll down for complete list of supplies :) SUPPLIES:
stamps: Elzybells Coffee Friends, MFT Hot stuff
ink: momento in tuxedo black, copics
paper: close to cocoa, really rust, summer sun, K&C Co. patterned paper
other: chocolate organdy ribbon, vintage brads, nestabillities, scallop edge punch, stampin' sponges.

ENJOY and check back tomorrow for another project :)

Frosty Window and MFT December Guest Designer

Here is a card I made last night for the MFT guest designer challenge for December. The challenge was watercoloring. I really enjoyed making this card. The other day I showed you a card which was similar but view from outside in. This time I wanted to make a view from inside out. I stamped the image from MFT set "Baby it's cold outside" on watercolor paper and I colored it with my aqua painter and ink pads. then I cut out a piece ( same size as the watercolor paper, I left the piece of watercolor paper larger than the image, so there is space for sticky strip on the edges) of acetate. I adhered 3 piece of sticky strip on the edges of the watercolor paper, and left the top with no sticky strip and adhered the acetate. Then I poured some crystal fine glitter in to get the frosty look on the window and like there is snow blizzard outside. Then I sealed the top so the glitter stays in. We don't want glitter all over our house, do we? And my window was done. Next I adhered the ribbon to look like curtain around the image. And you get the rest of the story about making of this card....
Anyway...I just found out that I was picked to be Guest Designer for MFTstamps for December.

It's such an honor!!!
Scroll down for complete list of supplies.

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Baby It's Cold Outside MFT Stamps
ink: jet black staz on, real red, going gray, soft sky, not quite navy, bashful blue, chocolate chip, blush blossom
paper: ski slope dsp, watercolor paper, baja breeze, acetate
other: real red wide grosgrain ribbon, felt flurries, white doodlebug brads, crystal fine MS glitter, gold elastic cord, square nestabillities.
Enjoy!

Home for Christmas

Here is a card I made with a stamp set from the Holiday Mini called "Home for Christams". I enjoyed coloring this image with prismacolor pencils and I think I like how it came out. I stamped the image with basic black on cream confetti cardstock and cut it with square nestabillities. Then I took the riding hood red card base and I cut a window with the same square die on the front. Then on the back I adhered a piece of confetti cream cardstock the same size as the cardfront. Then I adhered on front ti image. Does it make any sense what I did?!?!
SUPPLIES:
stamps: Home for Xmas
ink: basic black, riding hood red, old olive, prismacolor pencils
paper: riding hood red, old olive, confetti cream
other: riding hood red taffeta ribbon, vintage brads, glimering snow writer (Deco Arts), sponge doubers, nestabillities.
Enjoy!
